Stampin' Up! Faux Chalkboard

Woo-hoo what a fabby day. The sun is shining, there is actually no snow, I repeat there is no snow. The Easter Bunny has been to visit the Mini Beasts, I'm celebrating my birthday - the only bummer is that Zac is really not doing well with the chicken pox thing. Still hubby is home today and tomorrow to help me look after him.

So after my exciting news at getting published yesterday I'll share another of my faux chalkboard creations with you. This is my favourite one:

Stampin_Up

I've used a right mish mash of different stamps on this one but love the way it turned out, not so clean and simple as my usual style.

Can't stop - much chocolate to nosh and cake to stick my face in!

Stampin' Up! Papaya Collage Published

Sooo excited (apart from the fact Major Mayhem clearly now has Chicken Pox). The Spark took me for a pre-birthday trip into Nottingham today to do a spot of shopping and lunch at Jamie Oliver's and then the MOST important part of the day - to WHSmiths to pick up my copy of a new paper craft magazine:

Stampin_Up

Soo exciting to have been asked to send in photos of some of my faux chalkboard technique cards and even better that my favourite one was chosen to be in print in this wonderful new magazine - Made in Paper:

Stampin_Up

The magazine is available in WHSmiths and also features another Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! too!
Here is my card, using Papaya Collage:

Stampin_Up

And a close up. You can see my video tutorial for this technique on You Tube HERE.

Stampin_Up

Can't hang about, we went to pick the boys up and my lovely MIL plied me with champagne even though she'll see me on my birthday on Sunday and there is a chance I'm just a little (lot) bit squiffy!

Stampin' Up! Pop Up Posies Does Easter

We still have snow in Nottingham - how about you? Still the Mini Beasts break up from school and nursery today and Zac asked me to make some gifts for their teachers. So I did:

Stampin_Up

I got these cute bunny chocolate lollipops from Thornton's and somehow the little lemonade chocolate bubbles fell into my basket too. Zac and I enjoyed tasting a few of them - well you have to make sure the popping candy works eh?

Stampin_Up

The box lids and bases have been made using the embossed labels out of the Stampin' Up! Pop Up Posies Kit - it's in the Spring / Summer Seasonal Catalogue. So easy to make, just score from the pointy corners and fold. I've used Window Sheets to make the box and backed with So Saffron Designer Paper from the Subtles Stack. I sat the bunnies in one of the mini paper cases, also included in the kit.

Stampin_Up

The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen, I don't really have need for a specific Easter stamp set so this is fab as it has 12 different occasion sentiments in. The Calypso Coral and Pool Party flowers are held together by the beautiful fabric covered brads. These pieces all come in the kit so no die cutting or punching needed!

Stampin_Up

The teachers all loved them and the cards Zac made them too - I didn't get chance to photograph them which is a shame, they were all made using retired stickers etc from Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' Kits.

Here's to a chocolate filled weekend!

Stampin' Up! Artisan Embellishments Class

If you follow me on Facebook you'll have seen the sneak peek I posted yesterday of this project. I absolutely love this and it's something a bit different for me too. We decorated our hallway and stairs before Christmas and I have been looking everywhere for some 'art' to pop in a particular place and have found nothing that fitted the idea I had in my head. So I set about creating my own. I've done one so far and have another to make to go with it. Here you go, starting with the sneak peek I shared already:

Stampin_Up

Ta-da ....here is the whole thing.  It's not the brightest of photos but it's so dark here with more snow falling! It's a print tray box (12" square) decorating using the Artisan Embellishments Kit and More Amore Designer Speciality Papers amongst other things.

Stampin_Up

I've wanted to do something with this photo of the Spark and Major Mayhem for so long now. Zac was such a chunky baby boy! I was so nervous about cutting the photo as the digital of the original is long since lost on a burnt out laptop!

Here's a close up of one of the resin flowers:

Stampin_Up

And a bit more detail too:

Stampin' Up! For The Record Simply Scrappin'

Whilst the house is empty Jelly will play - yey, the boys are both at school all day today and so I am going to be in the Room of Craft all day! Here is my first creation, I've done two 12"x12" scrap layouts featuring my Mini Beasts and this years' school photos:

Stampin_Up

Everything on both pages are elements from For The Record Simply Scrappin' Kit.
 Here's the opposite page:

Stampin_Up

I adore the photo of them together, they truly are the best of friends - well when they're not arguing!
Here are the pages together:

 Stampin_Up

I love how the kit gives so much to helping design the layout. Instructions come in the kit but I've pretty much done my own thing. It's fab as most elements are self adhesive too.

Stampin_Up

The 12x12 card stock has a lovely spotty pattern on it and the school style papers are great for getting the Markers out on for a spot of journaling.

Stampin_Up

So fancy having a go? Why not book yourself a place at my next scrapbook club? You'll get everything you need to make these two layouts - or your own design of course, just bring photos, your paper trimmer and glue!

Wednesday 17th April
7.30pm - Nottingham
Cost £10 - to be paid in full by Tuesday 9th April please.

Stampin' Up! Last 2 days to Sale-a-Brate with me

So - it's week three and Jelly pretty much hasn't left the house due to the mini beasts having a variety of lurgies - the latest being Chicken Pox.

Well, I managed to escape the house on Saturday evening to visit Sarah and all her lovely friends at her Stampin' Up! party and this is the Make and Take I demonstrated for Sarah and her guests to create:

Stampin_Up_Demonstrator

We used Crumb Cake Card for the bade and then a strip of Sycamore Street Designer Paper. This is a Sale-a-bration exclusive product and you can only get it with a spend of £45 on Stampin' Up! product BEFORE close of business tomorrow and then it will be gone .........forever!!!

Next we added a length of Indigo Island Satin Ribbon (also a sale-a-bration item) and die cut ovals with Oval Famelits in Island Indigo and Whisper White Card.

Stampin_Up_Demonstrator

We made an ink pad with a few baby wipes and re-inkers in Island Indigo, Summer Star Fruit and Pool Party and used the Sale-a-bration stamp set Bloomin' Marvelous to decorate the white oval before sticking them down. Then we got all glimmery and shiny and pretty by spritzing our creations using Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer. Great fun!

Here are a few photos from the party:

Stampin' Up! Madison Avenue meets Razzleberry Splash

Mmm bliss, Major Mayhem is feeling much better and has been snuggled up on the Sofa watching Star Wars this morning, allowing me to escape to the Room of Craft for a while and create. And create I have:

So I made this gift box and card set. The boxes are Kraft and come flat in a packet of four for just £2.75 and there are so many different ways to decorate them. I love them to bits and could make one a day if I had an endless supply! I've used Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Silver Glimmer Card and Pool Party. I am going to be so sad to see Pool Party retire in a few months so expect to see me using lots of it in the meantime!

The card is 4" square and I've layered up the card and Silver Glimer Paper. TIP: to stick layers onto the Silver Glimmer Paper, I punch holes or shapes in it to use on different projects and pop the glue in the space punched out! I've used the Sale-A-Bration Vine Street Embossing Folder on the Pool Party card.

Stampin_Up

The flower is made with card stock stickers from the Stampin' Up! Razzleberry Splash Simply Scrappin' Kit - you'll be seeing a lot more of that kit from me very soon too! I've added one of the Pool Party Buttons (FREE with an order of £45 or more in the next 8 days!)

Stampin_Up

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners - also FREE during Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration promotion and you can also buy the matching Framelit Dies too. I've simply cut them out and done a spot of folding to create a bit of lift!

Finally the box:

Stampin_Up

Decorated in the same way with a tag made using Pool Party Ribbon and some more flowers from the Razzleberry Splash Kit. The flowers around the sides of the box are stamped from Madison Avenue in Rich Razzleberry, cut out and stuck down.

Keeping my fingers crossed the Spark doesn't have to work tomorrow so I can smuggle in more crafting and then I have Sarah's Stampin' Up! party to look forward too tomorrow night - yey!

Stampin' Up! Vintage Verses

So - snow, sunshine, blizzards or all three? Weird isn't it? Anyhoo, today I have another card created using the faux chalkboard technique.

Stampin_Up

It's a cute 4" square card using Regal Rose and Basic Black card. the sentiment is from the now very close tor retiring Sale-A-Bration stamp set Vintage Verses. You can still earn this set for FREE with a purchase of £45 on Stampin' Up! products with me, but you need to hurry as the promotion ends on 22nd March!

I've added some faux stitching too and a garland of hearts punched out from some scraps using the Small Heart Punch

I'd hoped to finish my latest tutorial for you by today but the lurgy is lurking in the house of Jelly so fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Stampin' Up! Amazing Family

A scheduled post from me today as I know I'm going to be busy. I've made another faux chalkboard style card cased from the Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Seasonal Catalogue using Amazing Family stamp set:

Stampin_Up

The matching border used the Amazing Accent wheel - if you've not tried these yet they are a great way to add detail to your projects and you only need to buy one handle and then try as many different wheels as you like (standard size). I rolled this one over a Versmark ink pad and then heat embossed with Whisper White Embossing Powder.

Back soon with a mini album tutorial for you!

Stampin' Up! Papaya Collage

So really - snow forecast? Please make it go away as I have a Stampin' Up! party to get to tonight and my hostess is very excited!!!

Good to be back to my blog, the miniest mini beast has been poorly all week and I've been nurse Mummy. Thankfully Blake is back in good form and normal service has resumed in the House of Jelly.

Yesterday was my Father in laws Birthday and this is the card I made for him from Hubs and me:

Stampin_Up

It's a simple card using Crumb Cake Card as the base with the bird and hat stamped in Always Artichoke with Clear Embossing Powder over the top. The blue detail is Midnight Muse ink coloured with a Blender Pen. My FIL has a bit of a thing for birds (the garden variety!) and we like to take rib him about it!

Can't wait to spend some time blog hopping and catching up on what you've all been up to.
