If you follow my blog you'll know how much I've wanted to be able to emboss bright pink on black for some time now, using purely Stampin' Up! products. Well, with a little cheating I have succeeded!!
This week's challenge at Less is More is to create a one layer card featuring dry or wet embossing. Thanks Dame Chrissie and Diva Mandi - I've used both, sorry it took me so long to join in, it's been such a hectic weekend this morning was my first chance to have a go.
I found this technique on several blogs and have been wanting to give it a try. I've used Melon Mambo card for the base and used the Manhattan Flower Big Shot Embossing Folder. All you do is ink up the indented side of the embossing folder with plenty of Versamark ink using the Brayer and then roll through the Big Shot. I went back and forth a few times to make sure I got a good even covering of ink. Next is to just go for it and tip the whole pot of Black Embossing powder over the card and tap all the excess back in! Heat set withe the heat embossing tool and voila!
I decided I wanted a sentiment so punched an aperture with the oval punch and matched up the sentiment from Oval All on the inside.
No temptation to add gems or ribbon today at all. Here's a view of the inside, you can see I didn't wait for my ink to dry on the sentiment before I closed the card:
I feel like I could easily sleep all day today to recover after my busy weekend but Zac and Blake wouldn't thank me for that. Plus I could only imagine the chaos they'd cause if I nodded off even for 10 minutes.
So if you've not yet joined in with the latest LIMettes challenge - hop on over and have a go.
